This educational course focuses on the supervisor or team leader in a restaurant, bottle shop or resort or the wine enthusiast who wants to learn about world wines and their regions, climates, geographical influences and to develop a deeper knowledge regarding wines around the world. Entry is best with a pass in WSET Level 2 Award in Wines or at least 5 years in world wines industry.
Unit 1
- The key factors in the production of wine: location, grape growing, winemaking, maturation and bottling
- How these key factors influence the key characteristics of the principal still wines of the world sparkling wines of the world fortified wines of the world
- How to apply your understanding to explain wine style and quality
Unit 2
- How to taste wines, describe their characteristics and evaluate their quality, using the WSET Level 3 Systematic Approach to Tasting

- WSET Level 3 Award in Wines Specifications
- WSET Level 3 Award in Wines SAT
What is included
- WSET Book, work book, approx. 80 to 90 wines, exam of 50 multiple choice questions, and 4 written questions and tasting of 2 wines using WSET L3 SAT format. (Global Certificate and PIN if a pass is achieved)
